I'm
Leslie Weeden, one of the One Brick volunteers on
the 1st shift of yesterday's Lenny the Pug Birthday
Party fundraiser. I hope you reached your
fundraising goal. I will be making a contribution
to Animal Haven. I'm a longtime downtown resident
and lifetime animal lover (Pugs and Dachshunds a few
personal favorites) and was so impressed by the
shelter and your contribution to it. Thank you so
much for doing such a wonderful thing. Lenny, of
course, was the highlight of my experience yesterday
morning. I am sure you are used to hearing nothing
but accolades in regard to Lenny. My personal
positive bias towards the breed notwithstanding,
Lenny is a spirited, joyful, positive representative
of an extremely vital organization. When I get
another dog (my building used to allow pets but
banned them several years ago - my 16 year old cat
if grandfathered - the building is going to allow
pets again (with some restrictions as to size and
breed, but at least it's a start)) a pug is among my
top choices. I've known lots of pugs over many
years, with never a dud among them. Once gain, Lin,
thank you so much for allowing me to participate in
the Lenny experience, and for the wonderful work
you, Lenny, your wonderful family and friends and
Animal Haven do for animals (not to mention the

Out
of 450 picture submissions, one of the photos of
Lenny was selected by Chris Ameruoso to be featured
in Pug Style. Well, actually two of them were (the
one that was submitted by Ronnie as well). Chris
chose the patriotic Lenny the Pug puppy picture to
be in the box. There are only 21 pages in this
book, so Lenny will shine on two!! -Alana, 12/5/06

event was beautifully set up. The vendors were great
and I really enjoyed meeting so many new people and
pugs...even people from my rescue who lived too far

I
had a wonderful day at the Giving Thanks & Helping
Others event. It is always such a joy to see Lenny
the pug and so many of his pug friends, too. And it
is so good to know that proceeds from the sales that
day, of books and many other dog things, all went to

It
was a unique pleasure to be able to be a part of
Lenny the Pug's "Giving Thanks & Helping Others"
event. It was also the perfect excuse for me to
travel from my adopted home state of California and
pay a visit to the city where I was born, New
York. When THE TAO OF PUG was first released, we
were searching for a "Pug Hub" in New York, a
central clearinghouse for all things pug. Thanks to
Lin and Lenny, I believe we have found it. As
usual, Lin did a stellar job organizing, pulling all
the pieces together. Animal Haven is a brilliant
new no-kill facility and it was great to be able to
support their work. The only hard part for me was
leaving Wilson at home. He's not big on cross
country flights and would rather stay home to frolic
with Homer. It was great to meet Wilson's fans in
person, and everyone seemed happy to see our new
book LETTERS TO A YOUNG PUG. Thanks, Lin and Lenny,
